Alan Propp joined DMOI as its Senior Policy Advisor in September 2021. In this role, he provides recommendations to the Deputy Mayor regarding policy and programs in District agencies related to environment, transportation, permitting and financial services. Alan convenes agency leadership to ensure collaboration and efficient operations among DMOI agencies, independent public utilities and transportation authorities, and external stakeholders and residents. Prior to this role, Alan worked as a Delivery Leader at Delivery Associates. There, he accelerated the implementation of buildings, energy, and transportation emissions reduction projects in local governments as part of the American Cities Climate Challenge. Additionally, he planned collaborative events and convenings for 700+ city staff, NGO partners, and foundations to facilitate peer learning. Before Delivery Associates, Alan worked in Strategy & Business Development at Plenty, a San Francisco-based indoor vertical farming startup.

Alan has an MA in Environmental Communication and a BA in Human Biology from Stanford. He is passionate about climate, sustainability, and equity work, and is a Ward 6 resident in the District of Columbia.
