Charlie Willson is the Director of the DC Vision Zero Office. In this role, he coordinates across District Government on all elements of the Vision Zero strategy. He has served in various roles in the Vision Zero Office since joining the team in 2019. For him, Vision Zero means focusing resources on DC’s High Injury Network and prioritizing the streets and neighborhoods that are disproportionately affected by traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities.

Originally from Atlanta, Charlie initially moved to DC in 2003, and served in federal government and philanthropic roles (in DC and San Francisco) prior to joining District Government in 2019. Charlie lives in Ward 1 with his wife and two children. When not at work, you will find Charlie and his family enjoying DC’s amazing museums, festivals and events, public library branches, parks and recreation facilities, and National Park resources.
